    Web Woods

Food Webs & Ecosystems Umur 10–12

Link food chains into food webs, name producers, consumers and decomposers, and predict what happens when one living thing disappears.

    • Umur 10–12
    • 3 misi
    • Permulaan → Semakin mahir → Cabaran

In nature, nothing eats alone. Every food chain is tangled up with others to make a food web, and a change to one living thing ripples through all the rest. In Web Woods, Year 6 scientists trace where the energy goes.

Apa yang akan dipelajari anak anda

    • Name producers, consumers, predators, prey and decomposers
    • Know that the arrows in a food chain show the direction energy travels
    • Link food chains together to make a food web
    • Predict what happens when one living thing increases or disappears

    It starts with the Sun

Green plants are producers: they make their own food using sunlight. Animals are consumers: they get energy by eating plants or other animals. The arrow in “grass → rabbit → fox” means “is eaten by” — it shows where the energy goes.

    Everything is connected

If the rabbits in that web disappeared, the foxes would have less to eat and the grass would grow unchecked. Decomposers — fungi and bacteria — finish the loop by breaking down dead plants and animals so their nutrients return to the soil.
