    Exclamation Volcano

    Year 2 Kata Seru

Wah, aduh, amboi, eh, cis and syabas — little words that show big feelings, each with its own job.

    • Ages 6–8
    • 3 quests
    • Beginner → Getting stronger → Challenge

Kata seru are exclamations, short words that let a feeling burst out: wah (amazement), aduh (pain), amboi (surprise), eh (puzzlement), cis (anger), syabas (well done), nah (here you are) and wahai (calling to someone).

    What your child will learn

    • Match each exclamation to its feeling
    • Put a comma after the exclamation and an exclamation mark at the end
    • Choose the exclamation that fits a sentence

    One word, one feeling

Each kata seru has its own job. You cannot say “Aduh, cantiknya!” for a beautiful view — aduh is for pain. “Wah, cantiknya!” is right.

In writing, a comma follows the exclamation and the sentence ends with an exclamation mark: “Aduh, sakitnya kaki saya!”
